Summertime Smoothies With Bare Bones Bone Broth

Well it’s officially summertime, people.  The summer solstice a couple of weeks ago marked the beginning of our favorite season and we couldn’t be happier. Summer calls for long days in the sun, flip-flops, pool parties, beach trips, cookouts, and cold drinks. Which brings us to one our favorite drinks to enjoy during the summer (other than a nice cold adult beverage): smoothies!  

For some of you a hot cup of bone broth is the usual start to your morning routine, but when it’s 95 degrees outside, you want something more refreshing. With the help from some Bare Bones Bone Broth and our cookbook, you can start incorporating your daily dose of bone broth into some cool, fresh, and energizing summer drinks.

We’ll get you started with our Carrot and Orange Smoothie recipe, which will hopefully inspire your own bone broth smoothie creations.

Who said fruit has to be the star of smoothies? Lets make bone broth the star this summer! After all, we could use something that’s loaded with vitamins, minerals, and protein—without all the sugars. Enjoy!

Serves: 2 | Prep Time: 10 minutes 

  • 1 cup of carrot juice
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 cups Beef Bone Broth
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup ice

IN a blender, combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth, about 5 minutes.

SERVE immediately, or store, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
